Data Certifications and Letters of Acceptance Home / Data Certifications and Letters of Acceptance Jeppesen is required to notify our customers of the status of our Letters of Acceptance provided by regulatory authorities. This page is a one-stop access point to Jeppesen LOA information and documentation. The current Data Definition Document (DDD) is available by contacting your Jeppesen account representative. All data produced complies with Jeppesen DDD, and/or mutually agreed upon customer data quality requirements. If you are a current customer and need information regarding regulatory/compliance for any Jeppesen/Boeing EFB products, please submit your request using the following link: jeppesen.com/navigation-solutions/flitedeck-pro/flitedeck-pro-authorization-support/ For information regarding regulatory/compliance for ForeFlight products, please visit this site: foreflight.com/regulatory-documents Boeing Digital Solutions ISO 9001:2015 Certifications Please click on the links below to access a .pdf copy of our LOAs, current Release Statements, and other applicable documentation. Jeppesen delivers databases to end users on behalf of some Type 2 holders. Jeppesen does not alter or manipulate data we are delivering on behalf of the Type 2 holder. Jeppesen is simply providing the data updates over the internet via the Jeppesen Distribution Manager application or other delivery method. When performing these services, the Type 2 holder is responsible for the integrity of the data and how it functions in the compatible avionics system. FAA Type 2 LOA holders, and links to their Regulatory approvals/certificates are available below: EASA DAT Certificates are based on the EU Regulation 2017/373 and are equivalent to FAA Letters of Acceptance. Furthermore, bilateral recognition of EASA DAT and FAA LOA exists as documented in the Technical Implementation Procedures for Airworthiness and Environmental Certification. Type 1 acceptance letters are based on generic data requirements agreed upon between the data supplier and the customer and are for data suppliers that are data service providers. Type 2 acceptance letters are based on requirements that ensure compatibility with particular systems or equipment and are for data suppliers that are avionics manufacturers/application integrators. Type 2 acceptance letters are intended to facilitate the operational approval process or approved maintenance program, and eliminate the operators need to re-evaluate compatibility if the data supplier has already assured compatibility. While RTCA/DO-200A applies to both types of acceptance letters, the Type 2 data suppliers have additional requirements to ensure the delivered database is compatible with the DQRs necessary to support the intended function approved for the target application. What is a modified data report? One of Jeppesen’s roles is that of a value added data consolidator when combining source documentation from over 200 countries worldwide. Occasionally inconsistencies or errors are detected within the source documents provided by the state(s). Jeppesen corrects these errors or inconsistencies whenever possible by modifying the state provided data. Jeppesen is required by regulatory agencies to report Jeppesen Modified Data to our end-users. The listing of current Jeppesen Modified Data is provided below. All data modified by Jeppesen should be considered fit for aeronautical use. Not all LOAs require a Modified Data Report. What is a data definition document? The Data Definition Document is a Jeppesen created and owned document that is shared with, and mutually agreed upon by, Jeppesen customers defining the data quality characteristics. In some cases, Jeppesen mutually agrees to customer provided data quality requirements in lieu of Jeppesen’s DDD. Will evidence of a FAA Letter of Acceptance or an EASA DAT Certificate help satisfy IOSA audit requirements? Navigation database integrity can be assured by obtaining data from a supplier accredited in accordance with approved or accepted standards of data integrity and quality. Such standards include but are not limited to: RTCA/DO-200, Standards for Processing Aeronautical Data; RTCA/DO-201, Standards for Aeronautical Information; Advisory Circular (AC) 20-153, Acceptance of Data Processes and Associated Navigation Databases. The specifications may be satisfied by an operator, in accordance with State approved or accepted methods for assuring data integrity and compatibility, such as: Obtaining a letter of acceptance from an applicable authority stating the data supplier conforms to a recognized standard for data integrity and compatibility that provides an assurance level of navigation data integrity and quality sufficient to support the intended application, or The existence of operator validation processes to determine navigation data compatibility and accuracy that provide an assurance level of navigation data integrity and quality sufficient to support the intended application.
