Subscribe Flying Past and Future Jeppesen NavData® 50th Anniversary Jeppesen NavData was first used on a commercial revenue flight in June 1973, aboard a DC-10 using a Collins AINS-70 system. In those early days, updates were shipped every 28-days on magnetic tape to Collins, and then the full database was loaded onto the airplane using a floppy disc.
