Flying Past and Future

Jeppesen NavData® 50th Anniversary

Jeppesen NavData was first used on a commercial revenue flight in June 1973, aboard a DC-10 using a Collins AINS-70 system. In those early days, updates were shipped every 28-days on magnetic tape to Collins, and then the full database was loaded onto the airplane using a floppy disc.

Today, the Jeppesen master database features the most up-to-date, accurate and detailed data in the world with more than 2.6 million data records gathered from 200+ sources, and more than 47,000 pieces of source data validated every 28-days.
