For Jeppesen Ground Controls customers, it’s Trip Kit—a cloud-based backup system providing pilots immediate access to essential charts and navigational information they need, even during system failures. Trip Kit helps you avoid disruptions caused by EFB network, hardware or connectivity issues, and minimize costs related to delays, including crew, fuel, passenger compensation and airport fees. Pilots quickly access a PDF with everything needed to taxi and complete any IFR flight via an always-on, web-based solution. Trip Kit is simple for both EFB administrators and pilots to use and can be downloaded in minutes. What's in Trip Kit? Trip Kit includes the following downloadable content for offline access: Tailored data Terminal charts Enroute strip charts for the entire route of flight with the actual route displayed Ball notes along the route and in the direction of flight indicating an operational or regional note specific to that route (similar to FliteDeck Pro) Embedded links for quick document navigation Compare Trip Kit with a Leading Competitor Why Wait? Automate! With Trip Kit as a Service Jeppesen Trip Kit as a Service is an optional API which allows airlines to automate the generation of Trip Kit PDFs for all flights within their existing systems. This tool eliminates the need for pilots to manually enter a route at the gate during high-pressure situations. With this API, backup data for every flight is automatically available and integrated into standard procedures. It ensures that offline copies of all required charts are always accessible to the flight crew in the event of a navigational app or app data issue. This API is a system-to-system service that can be called by airline systems—such as internal mobile or web apps—using customer configured parameters. It generates a Trip Kit PDF, stores it, and passes the location back to the calling system. Integration details, including API calls and response times, are provided in an API development guide.
