Government and Military Aviation: Planning for the end of Jeppesen paper chart services

The global transition to paperless chart operations within the aviation industry continues to evolve rapidly, fueled by the growing costs of managing paper and the immense benefits of digitally-powered flight operations.

The majority of military customers around the world have worked to obtain paperless approval, and utilize Jeppesen digital charts instead of traditional paper charts.

As part of the digital evolution of military flight operations, we are planning to phase-out Jeppesen chart printing services, with services ceasing by 31 October 2026.

After the retirement of printing services, Jeppesen charts will remain available in a digital format, and print files can be made available for those customers choosing to utilize an in-house or third party printing service. We strongly encourage any customers still using paper charts, to begin exploring the “pathway to paperless” now.

Subject matter experts at Jeppesen have supported many customers with the transition to paperless operations over the past ten years, and they are available to assist in your journey as well.

Please let us know if you would like additional guidance on the transition, whether you need support on your paperless approval efforts via documentation support, or simply want to learn more about the process itself.

Jeppesen is committed to communicating additional details as they become available, and working with you to ensure a seamless transition to Jeppesen digital aeronautical navigation solutions.

Options for maintaining paper charts
Should you prefer paper navigation charts, or you have a regulatory requirement for your specific use case, there are several ways we can support you:

  • Jeppesen offers several solutions that enable you to print the charts you need in small volumes, including Ground Controls, eLink Portal or ForeFlight. Please check with your account manager for details if this is needed.
  • For larger print needs, Jeppesen is able to provide print files for your in-house or 3rd party printing. Please contact us for more details.
  • If you want to use the same special 7-hole punched Jeppesen paper, this is available as well. Please contact your customer service representative for JeppView paper order details.

Please consider that transitioning to a new paper chart process does require time and effort that could be better spent moving from a paper operation to a digital chart solution.
